Dry warm beds await you at Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains, unsurprisingly you could also stop by Little North Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. A normal amount of rain falls here at Susana Lake; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Susana Lake has to offer, you can camp at Gunflint Pines, and if you've had enough of Susana Lake, Little Gunflint

hours in the wintertime at Susana Lake temperatures fall to the-10's. Susana Lake is a nice location to visit for more than one day, Gateway-hungry Jack Lodge is a nice location to camp nearby, and there is a delightful hiking trail
close by called the South Lake Portage. Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Susana Lake. Do schedule some time to go to Frances Bay in the neighborhood of Susana Lake if you have a chance, and the Height of Land Portage is a wonderful hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful.

Two Island Lake Campground
 | 14 miles away I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
