If you are in St. Louis county it's always a good idea to stop by Sturgeon Lake. Now, you may imagine that's heaps but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Sturgeon Lake. Sturgeon Lake is right by the Snake Trail, and a splendid location for whitewater paddling is Little Fork River. Through the summertime, highs frequently are in the 70's at Sturgeon Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the wintertime highs

| | are mostly in the 10's with temperatures at Sturgeon Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Mesabi Range. Sturgeon Lake is not the only spot close by, Trestle Lake is a close by lake, and Hibbing Super 8 Motel is a great place to get some rest.

As the largest city in west-central MN (population 13,000) it offers plenty of restaurants, shopping, a very fine historical museum, a Prairie Wetlands Learning Center and more. Pebble Lake Golf Course, a challenging 18 hole course, is 5 miles away.
