In the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kettle River, and if you've had enough of Spruce Lake, Bang Lake is nearby. From a rain point of view Spruce Lake is a quite normal site; most of the rain falls through June while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. | | water? Try Annamahasung Creek. If you came for an overnight stay Birch Bay Campgrounds is a magnificent site to camp; dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Moose Lake, Mn. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Americinn - Carlton, Mn is a good choice, and you're possibly keen on lakes, Miller Lake is one of those close by.  | 17 miles away The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume.... |
