This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Americinn - Mt Iron, Mn is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Vermilion River. And that's not all you can do here at Spring Lake. A great close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites MOUNTAIN IRON (VIRGINIA), and if you come at the right time of year, Little Fork River offers some tremendous whitewater.       Spring Lake is a location that is reasonably waterless mostly; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Spring Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 10's with temperatures at Spring Lake dipping down into the-10's throughout winter nights. There is a brilliant hiking trail                  in the neighborhood of Spring Lake called the Taconite Trail, and Pfeifer Lake Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun stuff the Mesabi Range has to offer. Midway Motel is a great local campground, and scenic scenery and great skiing is what you acquire at Giants Ridge.
