In Minnesota there are many beautiful lakes, South Sturgeon Lake is one of them. Near South Sturgeon Lake you come across the Stingy Lake Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and Sturgeon River has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby. | | 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 10's with temperatures at South Sturgeon Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights.
There are other locations here than South Sturgeon Lake, for example Little Sturgeon Lake; there are great places to look at along the Link Lake Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Mesabi Range. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Mesabi Range will keep you coming back many times. | |

stuff. Lakes are such calm places, why not visit West Sturgeon Lake right next door to South Sturgeon Lake, and paddling on Little Fork River is so much fun. South Sturgeon Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; of all the
months in a year June is the one with the most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. C C Campground 717 is a great campground nearby, and if you need a spot to stay Hibbing Super 8 Motel is a splendid choice.

There is plenty to do at the resort too. Swan Lake is known for its water clarity throughout the summer. Fishing is almost always good with a healthy supply of sunfish, crappies, northern and walleyes. Largemouth bass are definitely the most sought after fish the past few years with most of them released again after they are weighed and their picture is taken for our ''fishing report'' board. Our swimming area is safely marked off with no dangerous drop offs. We have plenty of sand for sunbathing and sandcastle building.... |
