If the weather is great here at Slim Lake, you can go for a hike along the Beatty Portage; after a long day outdoors Elbow Lake Lodge is a nice site to spend a night or two. The amount of rainfall that falls at Slim Lake is close to the national average; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody       but if it's for you then we recommend Vermilion River. There's so much to do here at Slim Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Jeanette Campground is a brilliant spot for that. A journey to close by East Loon Bay is very relaxing. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Slim Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sioux River Campground. The Echo Trail is a good hiking trail near Slim Lake. During the warmest time of the year at Slim                  Lake temperatures are regularly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's.
