A visit to Mississippi National River & Recreation Area is recommended, and a good site to camp here at Silver Lake is Northernaire Motel. Silver Lake gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; the month with most of the rain is June, and February is the month with the least moisture. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Silver Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The       cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Silver Lake are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at St Paul East KOA while you're here at Silver Lake; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Manitou Ridge Golf Course. Silver Lake is a place with many visitors from Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, and Croixwood is a brilliant location to get some rest. There are other places here                  than Silver Lake, for example Casey Lake, and the slopes of Afton Alps are so inviting noone can resist. That right there is a load already, but it carries on; Silver Lake has it all. A magnificent spot for whitewater paddling near Silver Lake is Vermilion River, and after a long day outdoors Emerald Inn of Maplewood is a glorious place to spend a night or two. Gotta ski!
