Side Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. There are plenty of people from Duluth here at Side Lake, and Side Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Cloquet River Inn is a good place to camp nearby. Glide down the rapids of St. Louis River in a kayak, and there are other places here than Side Lake, for example Hunter Lake. For the duration of the summertime months at Side Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's

| | while overnight lows are typically in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 10's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Side Lake tend to be in the-10's.

than a day to look at everything Side Lake has to offer, you can camp at Eagle's Nest Resort. If you need a site to stay Americinn - Duluth/Proctor, Mn is a nice choice; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Spirit
Mountain.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a side visit to Beaver River. Lakes? Sure, Bergen Lake is close at hand. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Side Lake; June is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest.

The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume.... |
