Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 10's with temperatures at Side Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. Dry warm beds await you at Hibbing Park Hotel, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Stingy Lake Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Mesabi Range. Man, is there loads of amusing stuff to do in the Mesabi       Range. Side Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Beach Resort RV Park is a fine local campground, and if you get bored of Side Lake you could also go to close by Pickerel Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Side Lake; the month with most of the rain is June; the driest month of the year is February. If the weather is good here at Side Lake, you can go for a hike along the Snake Trail, and if you don't                  mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sturgeon River. You clearly should adore the Mesabi Range. There is a splendid hiking trail near Side Lake called the Link Lake Trail; Sturgeon Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out. This lake is so wonderful.
