During the warm days of summer here at Shoal Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 10's while Shoal Lake nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the-20's. A great swamp right next door to Shoal Lake is Dethloff Slough; while you're here you can take a hike along the Skeeter       Lake Trail System. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Mesabi Range. Why not camp at Prairie Lake Campground if you're here at Shoal Lake. If you're here at Shoal Lake and you like golf, you can take a look at Pokegama Golf Course; a fine nearby hotel is Budget Host Inn Grand Rapids. From a rainfall point of view Shoal Lake is a quite common location; the wettest month of the year is mostly July, that's the one that rains the most, and February                  meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Wendigo Lodge Golf Conference is a perfect choice. Lakes are brilliant; Nagel Lake is a lake that's next to Shoal Lake. So many enjoyable things to do in the Mesabi Range, not enough time.
