For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Shields Lake. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 10's; night lows at Shields Lake all through the winter ordinarily drop into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Kings Point is close to Shields Lake and is a wonderful spot       to stop by, of course you could also pop by Cranberry Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Apple River; Shields Lake is not the only spot nearby, Forest Lake is a nearby lake. Dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Forest Lake, Mn, and if you're a golfer then a pleasant nearby course is Forest Hills Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Country Inn                  & Suites By Carlson Forest Lake is a tremendous choice, and Mississippi National River & Recreation Area is a wonderful place close by. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do close to Shields Lake. Going for a hike on the Sunrise Ferry Hiking Trail is always a pleasant adventure; why not camp at River Bend Mobile Home Park if you're here at Shields Lake.
