Not far from Seasted Lake, you'll hit upon Moilan Lake which is a gorgeous lake, and skiing at Giants Ridge is one of those things you just should do. Lots of folks from Duluth come to Seasted Lake; a perfect nearby hotel is Super 8 Eveleth. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cloquet River, and you can stay the night at Ico Campground.

The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume.... |
