School Lake is not the only location close by, Birch Lake is a close by lake, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on St. Croix River. For the duration of the summertime, highs mostly are in the 80's at School Lake while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily       in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at School Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything School Lake has to offer, you can camp at River Bend Mobile Home Park, and fine hiking is available along the Sunrise Ferry Hiking Trail. Be careful coming to School Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. A great place for whitewater paddling near School Lake is Apple River; a tour to close by Shadyland Point is very relaxing.                  Wild Mountain has fine slopes and a friendly staff, and if you haven’t been to Mississippi National River & Recreation Area, you should schedule some time for it since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at School Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Blue waters Leisure Park is a delightful site for that, and after a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn is a great location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at School Lake you can play some golf at Forest Hills Golf Club.
