What a nice lake Sand Lake is. Summertime highs at Sand Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are typically in the 10's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Sand Lake temperatures drop to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Pike Lake is a fine lake next to Sand Lake; if you need a site to stay Super 8 Motel - Fosston is a great choice. Camping at Island

| | Lake Resort is always a nice experience, and a wonderful lake like Mule John Lake is a good location to go to. It is very waterless here at Sand Lake commonly; throughout the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February. A tremendous nearby hotel is Detroit Lakes Clubhouse Resort; camping is available at Clearwater County Long Lake Park.
