Sand Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. The amount of rain that falls at Sand Lake is close to the national average; June is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February. Sand Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Jko Campground is a great place to camp nearby. Lakes? Sure, Austin Lake is around here. | | wonderful. If you need a place to stay Budget Host Inn Grand Rapids is a good choice, and not far from Sand Lake you'll discover Shallow Lake which is a scenic lake. Sal's Campground is a great local campground; there's great hiking along the Skeeter Lake Trail System. Throughout the days of summer highs here at Sand Lake reach the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 10's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Sand Lake temperatures drop to the-10's.

It's amenities such as microwaves, good beds, reading lamps, TV/DVD's, lots of soft, hot water and decks or porches overlooking the lake that make cabins memorable. We're only 6 miles from Fergus Falls. As the largest city in west-central MN (population 13,000) it offers plenty of restaurants, shopping, a very fine historical museum, a Prairie Wetlands Learning Center and more. Pebble Lake Golf Course, a challenging 18 hole course, is 5 miles away.
