If you need a place to stay Royal Inn is a great choice, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Afton Alps. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Hudson is a fine place to spend a night or two; soar down the rapids of Apple River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Saint Croix is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Woodbury Koa Kampground is a magnificent local       campground; if you're a golfer then a wonderful nearby course is Hudson Country Club. Head up to Welch Village and strap some skis to your feet. So many exciting things to do here at Lake Saint Croix, too glorious to be true. If you come at the right time of year, Vermilion River offers some brilliant whitewater, and if you came to camp Willow River State Park is a splendid place to do that. Lake Saint Croix is in the neighborhood of Catfish Bar which                  is definitely worth a visit, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Browns Beach. During the warm months highs here at Lake Saint Croix reach the 80's with night lows in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 20's with temperatures at Lake Saint Croix dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights.
