Temperance River has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot close by, and Round Lake is a splendid spot to visit for more than one day, Sawbill Campground is a splendid spot to camp nearby. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Round Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month is February. Good hiking is available       along the Pine Portage, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Lutsen. The Granite River Portage offers hiking at its best. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Round Lake; Rib Lake Trail is a great local trail, and Gunflint Pines is a great campground nearby. During the warm months highs here at Round Lake reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's.
