Rose Lake is a lake worth visiting. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Rose Lake get into the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 10's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Rose Lake tend to be in the-10's. Get drenched paddling on Cascade River; the Long Portage offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Marais is a magnificent location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Rose Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Gateway-hungry Jack Lodge is a good local campground, and most likely you're looking for close
by lakes? Sure, Bearskin Lake is just a very short distance away. Rose Lake gets a normal amount of rain; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest.

Two Island Lake Campground
 | 10 miles away I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
