You can run the rapids of Upper Tamarack River in the vicinity of Rock Lake, and after a long day outdoors Lodge at Crooked Lake is a fine place to spend a night or two. From a rain point of view Rock Lake is a quite normal location; June is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Rock Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day       at, Boulder Campground is a fine local campground, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Markville Snowmobile Trail. If you need a site to stay Best Western Northwoods Lodge is a brilliant choice, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Lower Tamarack River. Summer at Rock Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in                  the 10's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Rock Lake plunge into the-10's. Rock Lake in fact is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Rock Lake is not the only place close by, Billys Lake is a close by lake, and some glorious nature is available in Saint Croix State Forest. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent site to camp here at Rock Lake is Horsemans Campground; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Hay Creek.
