During the summertime months, highs generally are in the 70's at Potato Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 10's while Potato Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the-20's. Good hiking is available along the Holstrum Spur Trail, and if you came to camp Thistledew       Campground is a good location to do that. This lake is so wonderful. There's good hiking along the Wilson Lake Trail; Potato Lake is not the only place close by, Spring Lake is a close by lake. Go for a hike on the Valley River Trail, and camping at Stony Brook Campground is always a great experience. Be careful coming to Potato Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. A lake close by is Candy Lake.
