    What a nice lake Portage Lake is. For the period of the warmest time of the year highs here at Portage Lake reach the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 10's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Portage Lake. You're most likely hooked on lakes, Wilson Lake is one of those nearby; camping at Northern Acres Resort and Campground is always a great experience. A normal amount of rain falls  
   here at Portage Lake; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February.
This is a great neighborhood for people who like lakes. Mushgee Lake is a lake in the vicinity; why not take a refreshing hike along the Cutfoot Sioux National Recreation Trail. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Portage Lake; Simpson
 
               Creek Trail System is a brilliant local trail; a delightful location to camp here at Portage Lake is O-NE-Gum-Me Campground.
If you need a location to stay Wendigo Lodge Golf Conference is a glorious choice, and splendid hiking is available along the Turtle Mound Trail.
