Do stop by Partridge Lake while you're in this part of Minnesota. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Moss Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Partridge Lake; Height of Land Portage is a nice local trail. Don't leave Partridge Lake without first going for a hike along the South Lake Portage. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Partridge Lake has to offer,
you can camp at East Bearskin Campground. For the duration of the long summer days at Partridge Lake highs are commonly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Partridge Lake are in the-10's.

 | I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
