At One Island Lake all through the days of summer highs are in the 70's; the overnight is rather chillier of course, generally in the 50's. All through the winter the highs are regularly in the 10's with temperatures at One Island Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. Super 8 Motel - Grand Marais is a wonderful spot to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone       but if it's for you then, we recommend Cascade River. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Looking for something in close proximity to One Island Lake? Echo Lake is in close proximity, and hey, Gotta ski right? Lutsen is a pleasant location to do that. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at One Island Lake; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. Gateway-hungry Jack Lodge is                  a delightful campground nearby, and do take a hike on the Stairway Portage. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Caribou Highlands Lodge is a wonderful choice, and One Island Lake is right by the South Lake Portage. This lake is so wonderful. The Height of Land Portage offers hiking at its best, obviously you could also stop at Little Rush Lake if you're here; it's not far at all.
