A good nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - St. James. The amount of rain that falls at Omsrud Lake is close to the national average; during June this area sees the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn New Ulm, Mn is a pleasant place to spend a night or two, and you'll probably meet some folks from New Ulm here. This lake is so wonderful.       Very wonderful water scenery is available at Shady Lake Dam next to Omsrud Lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Omsrud Lake has to offer, you can camp at Watona Park Campground and Park. All through the warm days of summer at Omsrud Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are typically in the 20's; nighttime lows at Omsrud Lake throughout the winter typically                  plunge into the 0's.
