You can run the rapids of St. Croix River close to Lake Olive, and a glorious place for whitewater paddling is Kettle River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Lake Olive with night lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Lake Olive. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If       you came for an overnight stay Paint Rock Spring Campground is a brilliant place to camp; a good close by hotel is Lodge at Crooked Lake. Lake Olive gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; the month with most of the rain is June; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Old Logging Trail Campground, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Markville Snowmobile Trail.
