A lake close by is Brewer Lake; after a long day outdoors Red Wing Super 8 Motel is a great spot to spend a night or two. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Stay the night at Greenwood Campground, and dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Red Wing. Hidden Valley Campgrounds is a good campground here, and swamps are out of the ordinary locations and Wood Slough in the vicinity       of North Lake is no exception. The amount of rainfall that falls at North Lake is close to the national average; July is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February. The slopes of Welch Village are so inviting noone can resist, and let's not forget Big River which is a stream that you may stumble upon while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. North Lake is not far at all from Red Wing. During the long summer days, highs regularly                  are in the 80's at North Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for North Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Vermilion River offers some delightful whitewater, and Morgan Coulee is another good place to stop by nearby.
