     Nichols Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Here at Nichols Lake there are plenty of people from Duluth, and do have a look at Lake Williams, it's a stunning lake. Camping is available at Pine River Campground, and Moose Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. Throughout the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are in the 70's at Nichols Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily  
   in the 10's; night lows at Nichols Lake all through the winter ordinarily plunge into the-10's.
Nichols Lake gets very little rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently June, that's the one that rains the most; February on the other hand is the driest. Dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Cloquet, Mn, and if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cloquet River. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day
 
               outdoors Eveleth Super 8 Motel is a great site to spend a night or two, and St. Louis River is a splendid whitewater spot close by.
You definitely must fancy Nichols Lake. Camping at Ico Campground is always a wonderful experience.

The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume....
