An average amount of rainfall falls at Mud Lake; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A glorious place to camp here at Mud Lake is Gateway North Outfitters; you can go for a hike on the Kelly Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Stuart Portage. Camping at Canoe Country Outfitters is always a splendid experience,       and after a long day outdoors Budget Host Motel Ely is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. Golf can be played at Ely Golf Club; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Stony River. This lake is so wonderful. There are great places to look at along the Crooked Lake Trail, and close by you locate Schaefer Bay. High temperatures at Mud Lake through the warm months are in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer                  temperatures fall down into the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 10's while Mud Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the-20's. Very good water scenery is available at Pioneer Tailings Dike next to Mud Lake, and of course, this is a fine region for people who like lakes, Pioneer Tailings Basin is a lake nearby. And that's not all you can do here at Mud Lake.
