You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the area in the vicinity of Mud Lake has to offer. Nearby lakes? Sure, Saint Marys Lake is in the vicinity of Mud Lake, and Giants Ridge has brilliant slopes and a friendly staff. Not much rainfall falls here at Mud Lake; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while February is usually the driest month. If you need a location to stay Budget       Host Virginia is a great choice, and there are some great whitewater spots on St. Louis River. You could also have a look at Horseshoe Lake while you're here at Mud Lake; it's close by, and going for a hike on the Taconite Trail is always a pleasant adventure. Mud Lake is good enough to spend more                  than a day at, Midway Motel is a good local campground, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Duluth here. Playing golf is lots of fun at Eveleth Municipal Golf Course. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Mud Lake get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's.
