A great close by hotel is Americas Best Value Inn, and you can have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Giese Truck Trail. Mud Lake gets a normal amount of rain; June is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. If you want a brilliant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to       Mud Lake. While you're here at Mud Lake you can play some golf at Sandstone Area Country Club, and why not camp at Waldheim Resort if you're here at Mud Lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Mud Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs all through the winter are mostly in the 10's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Mud Lake drop into the-10's. There are some glorious whitewater                  spots on Kettle River, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Hinckley is a delightful location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.
