A fine close by hotel is Hinckley-Days Inn, and not far from Mud Lake you'll find Clear Lake which is a wonderful lake. There are other sites here than Mud Lake, for example Twin Lakes; delightful hiking is available along the Herubin Truck Trail. If you need a location to stay Americinn - Moose Lake, Mn is a tremendous choice; Mud Lake is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Wilderness Campgrounds is a fine place to       camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Kettle River is so much fun, and you can stay the night at Bremen Woods Resort and Campground. The amount of rain that falls at Mud Lake is close to the national average; June is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. During the long summer days here at Mud Lake, high temperatures typically get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration                  of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 10's, and nighttime lows at Mud Lake all through the winter usually drop into the-10's. This site is unbeatable, just look at all the amusing stuff to do close to Mud Lake.
