Nearby lakes? Sure, Goose Lake is right next door to Mud Lake; a delightful spot to camp here at Mud Lake is Goose Island Campgrounds. No need to travel far to pop by interesting stuff like Twin Bluffs, and lots of people from La Crosse come here. This lake is so wonderful. Take a side spree to Pigpen Slough, and going for a hike on the Yellow River State Forest Trail is always a pleasant adventure. Effigy Mounds National Monument is a very nice place to go

Not far from Mud Lake you get some magnificent water scenery at Genoa Fish Hatchery Pond One Dam, and Courtyard La Crosse Downtown/Mississippi Riverfront is a wonderful location to get some rest. Lake gets a common amount of annual precipitation; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while January is typically the driest month. For the period of the summertime months at Mud Lake temperatures are mostly
in the 80's, and the nighttime is slightly chillier of course, mostly in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Mud Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. This place rules, just look
