There's wonderful hiking along the Thorhult Waskish Trail; a tremendous close by hotel is Super 8 Motel - Bemidji. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay KOA Kampgrounds is a fine place to camp, and if you need a spot to stay Best Western Bemidji Inn is a tremendous choice. Why not camp at Hamilton's Fox Lake Campground if you're here at Mud Lake, and Buena Vista is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood.       Here at Mud Lake there are plenty of folks from Bemidji. Mud Lake gets very little precipitation; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. At Mud Lake throughout the summer highs are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's.
