This lake is so wonderful. There are swamps here too; Carter Slough is in the neighborhood; Dry Run Coulee is also a good spot to look at. You can run the rapids of Vermilion River close to Mud Hen Lake, and after a long day outdoors Regency Inn and Suites is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.       You'll meet a lot of folks from Red Wing here, obviously you could also stop by Sharp Muskrat Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Mud Hen Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Greenwood Campground is a nice local campground, and if you've had enough of Mud Hen Lake, Spring Banks Lake is close by. Mud Hen Lake gets a common amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.                  Do schedule some time to stop by Eagle Point close to Mud Hen Lake if you have a chance; golf can be played at Clifton Highlands Golf Club.
