    What a nice lake Moose Lake is. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cloquet River; Schelin Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Moose Lake while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 10's with temperatures at Moose Lake dipping down into the-10's throughout winter  
   nights. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Moose Lake has to offer, you can camp at Ico Campground; if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel Cloquet is a perfect choice.
But wait, there's more to do near Moose Lake. St. Louis River is a glorious whitewater spot close to Moose Lake, and the snow is brilliant at Spirit Mountain. This is a popular place for folks from Duluth. There's so much to do here at Moose Lake that you need to camp here
 
               for a while, Pine River Campground is a good place for that.
Moose Lake is pretty dry ordinarily; June is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. A lake nearby is Artichoke Lake, and after a long day outdoors Americinn - Cloquet, Mn is a tremendous site to spend a night or two.

The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume....

We are always listed as a resort with cabin rentals. our 7 site seasonal campground that has not had an opening for several years, so it is never listed under campgrounds.
