     Merritt Lake is a nice lake to visit. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Vermilion River, and good hiking is available along the Taconite Trail. During the summer here at Merritt Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-20's to  
   Merritt Lake. So many amusing things to do at Merritt Lake, so little time. There's so much to do here at Merritt Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hinsdale Island Campground is a tremendous location for that, and if you need a spot to stay Elbow Lake Lodge is a tremendous choice.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not have a look at West Bay also while you're here, and you can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Giants Ridge. There's pleasant
 
               hiking along the Beatty Portage, and a wonderful close by hotel is Lodge At Giants Ridge. An average amount of rainfall falls at Merritt Lake; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month is February.
You'll need more than a day to explore everything Merritt Lake has to offer, you can camp at Fortune Bay Resort - Casino - RV Park, and don't leave Merritt Lake without first going for a hike along the Canfield Portage.
