This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Super 8 St. Joseph/St. Cloud Area is a great place to spend a night or two, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Ketten Lake. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sauk River. Lakes are good;       Dullinger Lake is a lake that's near Merden Lake. A brilliant site to camp here at Merden Lake is El Rancho Manana Campground; playing golf is lots of fun at Kimball Golf Club. Mississippi River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by. During the summertime at Merden Lake highs are generally in the 80's, and the night is a little chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 10's; through the dark hours in the wintertime                  at Merden Lake temperatures dip to the-10's. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things near Merden Lake. Merden Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Royal Oaks is a great local campground, and Budget Hotel Avon is a pleasant place to get some rest.
