Kimball Lake Campground is a pleasant local campground, and nearby you discover the Lesser Cherry Portage which is a nice hiking trail. If you come at the right time of year, Brule River offers some good whitewater, and there is a nice hiking trail close by called the Vaseux Portage. At McFarland Lake during the summer highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it       descends down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at McFarland Lake plunge into the 0's. A normal amount of rain falls here at McFarland Lake; the month with most of the rain is September while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
