Throughout the warmest time of the year here at McDonald Lake, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are frequently in the 20's while McDonald Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. That right there is lots already, but it carries on; McDonald Lake has it all. If you want to hit the beach, Browns Beach       is in the vicinity, and McDonald Lake is not the only place close by, Lily Lake is a close by lake. There's so much to do here at McDonald Lake that you need to camp here for a while, St Paul East KOA is a good place for that; Mississippi National River & Recreation Area is a very wonderful location to check out. The skiing at Trollhaugen is nice; if you get bored of McDonald Lake you could also stop at close by Long Lake. From a rain point of view McDonald Lake                  is a quite common site; the wettest month of the year is usually June, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February. If you need a location to stay Mpls./St. Paul/Stillwater Super 8 Motel is a fine choice, and a day on the slopes of Afton Alps is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. Applewood Hills Public Golf Course is a golf course close to McDonald Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything McDonald Lake has to offer, you can camp at Woodbury Koa Kampground, and Apple River is a tremendous whitewater spot close by.
