While you're here at McDonald Lake you can take a hike along the North Shore State Trail; a pleasant site for whitewater paddling is Cascade River. If the weather is good here at McDonald Lake, you can go for a hike along the South Lake Portage; why not camp at Cascade River Campground since you're here at McDonald Lake. McDonald Lake is a good place of common rainfall; the wettest month of       the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the warmest time of the year, highs typically are in the 70's at McDonald Lake with overnight lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 10's, and nighttime lows at McDonald Lake all through the wintertime regularly dip into the-10's.
