Don't forget to visit Frances Bay if you're here at Mayhew Lake; close by you discover the Stairway Portage which is a nice hiking trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Mayhew Lake. Cascade River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Little Rush Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Mayhew Lake is pleasant       enough to spend more than a day at, Gateway-hungry Jack Lodge is a pleasant local campground; the Height of Land Portage is a great hiking trail close by. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cascade River, and there is a glorious hiking trail close by called the South Lake Portage. From a precipitation point of view Mayhew Lake is a rather normal spot; during August this area sees the most rain, and February                  is when it's the driest. For the period of the summer months here at Mayhew Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Mayhew Lake.
