    If you are in Itasca county it's always a good idea to stop by May Lake. At May Lake during the months of summer highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 10's; night lows at May Lake through the winter generally fall into the-20's. Lakes are delightful; Bartlet Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of May Lake; why not take a refreshing hike along the Skeeter Lake  
   Trail System. This lake is so wonderful. A great place to camp here at May Lake is Thistledew Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around May Lake; Wilson Lake Trail is a brilliant local trail.
The amount of rainfall that falls at May Lake is close to the national average; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. That right there is a heap already, but it carries on; May Lake has it all. After a long
 
               day outdoors Country Inn By Carlson Grand Rapids is a delightful spot to spend a night or two. Camping is available at Jko Campground, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Rainbow Lake.
There's whitewater on Big Fork for all you adrenaline kick people, and tremendous hiking is available along the Wasson Lake Trail.

As the largest city in west-central MN (population 13,000) it offers plenty of restaurants, shopping, a very fine historical museum, a Prairie Wetlands Learning Center and more. Pebble Lake Golf Course, a challenging 18 hole course, is 5 miles away.
