Man, is there lots of entertaining stuff to do next to Lake Mattson. Saint Croix National Scenic River is a good national park. Lakes are wonderful; Chisago Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Lake Mattson. The Sunrise Ferry Hiking Trail is a pleasant hiking trail next to Lake Mattson; Point Pleasant is not far at all. Camping is available at Hillcrest RV Park, and dry warm beds await you at Americas       Best Value Inn. If you come at the right time of year, St. Croix River offers some wonderful whitewater; a great place to camp here at Lake Mattson is Blue waters Leisure Park. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Wild Mountain is one of those things you just have to do, and if you're a golfer then a nice close by course is Chisago Lakes Golf Course. Super 8 Motel is a pleasant site to get some rest, and you can never get enough of the good skiing at Trollhaugen.                  Through the warmest time of the year at Lake Mattson highs are mostly in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 10's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Mattson temperatures drop to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.
