Mankus Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Man, is there heaps of entertaining things to do near Mankus Lake. A nice nearby hotel is Pine Ridge Motel, and going for a hike on the Canfield Portage is always a wonderful adventure. Camping is available at Beddow's Campground, and there are fine places to discover along the Taconite Trail. After a long day outdoors Elbow Lake Lodge is a great place to spend a night or two; there is a good hiking trail close by called the Beatty Portage. At Mankus Lake throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 10's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Mankus Lake temperatures drop | |

to the-20's. Why not camp at Sand Beach Campground if you're here at Mankus Lake; do explore Finstad Lake, it's a lovely lake. This lake is so wonderful. Brendvold Creek flows through this region, and soar down the rapids of Vermilion River in a kayak.
