Summertime highs at Mackie Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 10's with temperatures at Mackie Lake dipping down into the-10's all through winter nights. From a rain point of view Mackie Lake is a quite normal site; June is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. There's       whitewater on St. Croix River for all you adrenaline rush seekers; pleasant hiking is available along the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary State Trail. If you need a site to stay Best Western Northwoods Lodge is a fine choice; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Bangs Brook. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area near Mackie Lake has to offer. Mackie Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Sioux Portage Campground                  is a glorious local campground. There are some fine whitewater spots on Lower Tamarack River, and there's fine hiking along the Markville Snowmobile Trail.
