Sure, Upper Pauness Lake is near Lower Pauness Lake, and there are some delightful whitewater spots on Vermilion River. On a fine day at Lower Pauness Lake you can take a hike along the Canfield Portage. There's so much to do here at Lower Pauness Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Jeanette Campground is a tremendous site for that. During the warm days of summer highs here at Lower Pauness Lake get into the 70's, and through the       night it cools down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's, and nighttime lows at Lower Pauness Lake during the wintertime ordinarily drop into the-20's. Don't leave Lower Pauness Lake without first paying a visit to Devils Cascade, and going for a hike along the Beatty Portage will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do close to Lower Pauness Lake.
