Hiking is a popular thing to do around Long Lake; Sunrise Ferry Hiking Trail is a great local trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Apple River. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites STILLWATER, and Saint Croix National Scenic River is a very great spot to check out. Whispering Bay Resort       is a great local campground, and if you get bored of Long Lake you could also stop by close by Staples Lake. If you love the outdoors, you'll go for Long Lake. Trollhaugen has good slopes and a friendly staff, and a lake nearby is West Boot Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Stillwater is a great choice, and there's whitewater on St. Croix River for all you thrill seekers. Summer brings highs in the                  80's to Long Lake. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Long Lake plunge into the 0's. From a rainfall point of view Long Lake is a rather normal place; through the month of June you get the most rain around here; February is when it's the driest.
