Wild Mountain is a nice spot to do that. A perfect location for whitewater paddling near Long Lake is Vermilion River, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by McDonald Lake. Not far from Long Lake, you'll locate Twin Lakes which is a picturesque lake, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Stillwater/St Paul is a delightful       spot to spend a night or two. A golf course in the vicinity of Long Lake is Applewood Hills Public Golf Course, and you can stay the night at St Paul East KOA. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Long Lake; June is the wettest month with most rain while February is regularly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Afton Alps are so inviting noone can resist; Woodbury Koa Kampground is a great campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful.                  Get your heart pumping on the tremendous whitewater of Apple River. For the duration of the summertime, highs mostly are in the 80's at Long Lake. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Long Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting things the area close to Long Lake has to offer.
