Float down the rapids of Poplar River in a kayak, and there are other locations here than Lizard Lake, for example Extortion Lake. Man, is there a lot of cool stuff to do close to Lizard Lake. Not far from Lizard Lake, you'll hit upon George Lake which is a striking lake, and Lizard Lake is right by the Pine Portage. If you came for an overnight stay Gunflint Pines is a tremendous place to camp, and after a long day outdoors Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains

| | is a good location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Rib Lake Trail; what would winter be without some skiing at Lutsen. Lizard Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. If you need a place to stay Caribou Highlands Lodge is a nice choice, and a quick visit to Tucker River is absolutely a nice idea. This | |

lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Temperance River offers some tremendous whitewater. During the warm days of summer here at Lizard Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's. During the moonlight
hours it's generally in the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 10's while Lizard Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the-10's. Take a hike on the Granite River Portage; Crescent Lake Campground is a fine campground nearby.
