If you are in this part of Minnesota make sure to pay a visit to Little Sand Lake. The Mesabi Range scenery is always beautiful. Do take a look at Belmont Lake next to Little Sand Lake, it's a pretty lake, and magnificent hiking is available along the Taconite Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Wolfridge Golf Course, and if you need a place to stay Ski View Motel is a wonderful choice.

| | at Midway Motel if you're here at Little Sand Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Little Fork River. Little Sand Lake gets very little rain; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. If you come at the right time of year, Sturgeon River offers some delightful whitewater.
